Blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty corrects droopy eyelids and bags under the eyes the can make you look tired.  In Severe cases droopy eyelids can impair vision which is also corrected by this procedure.

This operation will not correct dark circles, fine lines, or low eyebrows.
The operation will involve removal of excess fat, muscle and skin from the upper and lower lids as needed.  This will result in a clean upper lid with a fresher, younger, more alert appearance.

 

Is this operation right for you?

Good health and realistic expectations are important before proceeding with any surgery including Blepharoplasty.

Patients with significant circulatory, ophthalmologic or medical conditions may not be candidates for this surgery.

 

Consultation:

Photos will be taken pre operatively and questions will be asked about your vision, tear production, dry eyes and your expectations for surgery.  Physical examination of the eyes, lid laxity, and lid position will be carried out. You will also have a general examination of the head and neck, ears, nose and oral cavity during your visit. A general questionnaire will also be completed to determine you overall health and candidacy for surgery. This can be printed off in advance from this site to bring with you to your appointment.

Blepharoplasty can be done with local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia. The type of anesthetic will be discussed at the time of the consultation. The risk and costs of for the procedure will also be outlined in the consultation.
